New Delhi/Dehradun/Uttarkashi, June 20 (ANI): Rescue and relief operations are underway in Uttarakhand after early monsoon rains have swollen the Ganges, swept away houses, killed at least 150 people and left tens of thousands stranded. The rain and landslides since Sunday have stranded pilgrims at four revered Hindu shrines, washed away bridges and roads and caused other damage in Uttrakhand. Meanwhile Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said that the current flood situation in the state, where flash floods have claimed over a hundred lives and stranded thousands, is very grim and needs immense aid on all fronts.
