इंडियन मेडिकल एसोसिएशन ने चिकित्सा के पेशे को बदनाम करने के लिए अभिनेता आमिर खान से तुरंत माफी मांगने को कहा है और चेतावनी दी है कि ऐसा नहीं करने पर उनके खिलाफ कानूनी कदम उठाया जाएगा।
आमिर ने 27 मई को अपने टीवी शो सत्यमेव जयते में चिकित्सा के पेशे के बारे में अपमानजनक बातें कही थीं। आईएमए के महासचिव डॉक्टर डीआर राय ने कहा कि आमिर खान को पेशे का अपमान करने और सिक्के के एक ही पहलू को दिखाने के लिए माफी मांगनी चाहिए। अगर वह ऐसा नहीं करते हैं तो हम स्टार टीवी पर 27 मई को प्रसारित हुए उनके टीवी शो सत्यमेव जयते में चिकित्सा के पेशे का अपमान करने और उसकी बदनामी करने के लिए कानूनी कार्रवाई करेंगे।
डॉक्टर डीआर राय ने कहा कि सभी पेशों में कुछ गलत लोग और गलत चीजें होती हैं। यहां तक कि जिस पेशे में आमिर खान हैं वह भी अक्सर किसी न किसी गलत कारणों से खबरों में रहता है।

Aamir khan has said nothing wrong in his show. Healthcare has always been remained the priority of human life, but some healthcare personnel have made this noble and humble stream filthy out of their greed. They are trading health for the sake of money. IMA should see their inside story and should accept the reality despite being so rude and defensive. They should counter the filthy practices going on in the name of health. I am too from healthcare sector, a Pharmacologist, and know very well about these all white vandalism. Many doctors unnecessarily prescribe extra medicines, unnecessary medical tests, diagnosis, and hospitalization to increase the billing of patients. Actually this all evil deeds are joint venture of doctors and pharmaceuticals companies. Government has no control over them, and they are looting people as per their wish... We all must wake up against it and pressurize government to interfere in the issue to control the prices of medicines and healthcare facilities.
